Kimber // TTU Senior

Kimber really took me by surprise. When I found out the new school I would be teaching at had a student teacher from tech (that was a sorority girl), I admit that I judged her from the get go. I assumed she was like all the other sorority girls I saw (that I also prejudged) and was not too excited.

Then I met her. My opinions of her changed pretty dramatically. She was so sweet and fun, nothing like I imagined her to be. One day, we wore the exact same outfit, then we hung streamers in the hallway together. She taught me a lesson that I will never forget. I will never prejudge someone on the length of their t-shirts or the letters on the back of their cars again. She has quickly become one of my favorite people ever, constantly saving me from mistakes I've made, and making me laugh when I need it most.  I am just pretending that she's not moving away and creating her own life. Ryan keeps asking what I am going to do without "my Kimber" and I haven't figured out the answer yet.

Even though I am sad that she is leaving, I am so excited for her and her new job and the life that is waiting for her in Ft Worth. She's going to make a wonderful teacher and her kids are going to be so lucky to have her!

IRA // ALBERTO [ENGAGED]

As photographers, we are always trying to make people feel (and look) natural in front of a camera. Ira and Alberto here had that down from the start. When I would ask them to laugh with each other, they would just look at one another and giggle sweetly. When I asked for a serious face, they would turn on their America's Next Top Model smolder and melt the camera. They were a dream to shoot, and I absolutely can't wait to document their wedding in May.

(Annnnnnd a special thanks to Southern Elegance Design for the beautiful flower crown!)

MEGAN [SENIOR]

I don't even know where to start this post. Megan and her family are some of my most favorite people on earth. There are people in your life that, no matter the circumstance, will be there until the end. I remember one instance where like was just crazy busy and I felt so sad that I hadn't had time to spend with one of my favorite families. I texted Maury(Megan's mom) and apologized over and over an she said, "You don't have to apologize, we are heart friends. And heart friends understand and stand the test of time." That touched me so, and has completely held true. Now that we are inLubbock, I don't get to see Megan or her family as much as I'd like, but the time we do spend together is so special.

Megan is one of those people who is always smiling the most genuine smile. She loves and cares for people and brings joy wherever she is. I can't wait to see the amazing things she will do with her life and where she will go from here. She is so beautiful, inside and out and I had the best time capturing that!

Many of the pictures on her Pinterest board had a girl with a flower crown on so I called Shelley at Southern Elegance and she so graciously made me this sweet piece. Megan loved it and that made me so happy! Also - she rocked it and looked like a superstar, which also made me very happy :)

HOLLY//HUNTER [ENGAGED]

These two were such a treat to work with. One of my favorite things a client can say do is share their vision with us, then trust us to let it play out. They had such a good time with each other, making our jobs very easy. They are getting married in Oregon and I can only imagine what a beautiful day that will be! Thanks for asking us to be a part of your story, Holly and Hunter!

LAUREN // LANDRY [ENGAGED]

We were so excited to be a part of Landry's sweet proposal to Lauren and even more excited to be a part of their wedding this November! Landry had a group of their closest friends get together in one of Lauren's favorite spots to help him propose to his lady, and it couldn't have been more perfect. With the help of his friends holding up signs that said, "Would you marry _ " Landry conveniently forgot the "me" so he could fill that spot :) But he couldn't pop the big questions without washing her feet and making sweet promises. When it was all said and done, she said yes to the sounds of support and love from her family and friends! So glad we could be there!
